This site carries on Rumor Mill News from Rayelan's rumormillnews.com: a reading room
where readers bring the stories they think matter, and a front page of the ones chosen
from it.
Where it came from
Rumor Mill News began in 1996 as a print magazine, founded by Rayelan Allan and her
husband, Gunther Russbacher. Rayelan brought it back in 1998 as a newsletter sent over the
internet, and in 1999 it became the website at rumormillnews.com. For more than twenty
years its Reading Room was where Rayelan and the agents she gathered posted the news and
views they found worth reading, at any hour, and where readers joined in.
This site
The new Rumor Mill News keeps the old site's blue and red, and its idea, rebuilt for how
people read now:
- The reading room is open:
anyone with an account can post there, and everything posted shows.
- The front page holds what the
moderators choose from the reading room.
- Readers tag posts, follow the tags they care about, and mute the ones they do not.
- A post can be written now and set to go up later.
It is run by belisoful.
